What We Print

We publish zines, chapbooks, and other micro-manuscripts on various subjects, including but not limited to: local/regional themes, music and (sub)culture, queer/LGBTQ+ topics, feminism, general literature, and much more! We also host other resources on our website.

How We Got Started

Our very first publication was the Riot Grrrl Primer (first ed., 2021), which was a brief introduction to riot grrrl subculture. We re-released the Primer in an expanded edition shortly afterwards, featuring contributions from readers and more context, information, history, examples, artwork, and recommendations. Our flagship publication, Played Out, was developed during this time, and we released two issues in our first year of operation.

We offer digital copies of our publications for free on our website. Print copies are available for purchase at-cost directly from the Press, or at the following excellent local retailers:

What Services We Offer

Mujeres Libres Press is available to assist local writers and artists in creating, printing, distributing, and promoting their own work. Whether you have already self-published or are looking for help in getting your work on paper, we are happy to offer whatever support we can! We strive to be a useful resource for the community. Get in touch with us for any inquiries about partnerships and collaborations. We are not a for-profit entity and do not charge for our services.
