What We Print

We publish zines, chapbooks, and other micro-manuscripts on various subjects, including but not limited to: local/regional themes, music and (sub)culture, queer/LGBTQ+ topics, feminism, general literature, and much more!

How We Got Started

Our very first publication was the Riot Grrrl Primer (first ed., 2021), which was a brief introduction to riot grrrl subculture. We re-released the Primer in an expanded edition shortly afterwards, featuring contributions from readers and more context, information, history, examples, artwork, and recommendations. Our flagship publication, Played Out, was developed during this time, and we released two issues in our first year of operation.

Why "Copyleft"?

Mujeres Libres Press is in favor of the abolition of private property — including intellectual property. Beginning in 2022, we include a "copyleft" notice in our publications. This means that you are welcome to reprint our work, but please be sure to credit us! It's only polite. :)

Will You Print My Work?

We welcome all submissions and new partnerships! Not everyone is able to create the layout for digital zines or print physical copies of their work, so please feel free to contact us with any questions or requests!
